Anesthesia Scheduler is a web-based scheduling application that coordinates call and OR coverage across multiple sites. Based on rules and attributes that you define, Anesthesia Scheduler provides an accurate and easy way to configure schedules for small and large group practices alike.

• On the physician side, real-time schedules are always available and vacation requests can easily be made online, all the time.

Framework/Components

The whole application is based on the MonoX Portal Framework and makes use of the MonoScheduler extensively. Other Web controls implemented in the application include:

MonoGrid;

MonoTextBox;
MonoPager.

· The site management (security of the application, user administration, page administration, etc) is handled by the MonoX Portal Framework.

· MonoScheduler handles the advanced calendaring and scheduling functionality of the application.

Role-based security.

There are 3 roles used in the application (the number of roles may be changed depending on the user needs): Admin, ClientAdmin, and User. Depending on the role upon login, the following features are available:

define the security hierarchy with page level/module level permissions;
manage the content of your application visually;
add/edit modules and/or pages;
assign roles to other users;
add/delete new clients;
define/customize the properties of the client (or group);
create the list of providers, facilities, statuses, attributes, etc;

Different Views, Various Filters, One Schedule

• Show schedule using day view, week view or month view.
• Enter future events as unpublished (viewable only to the administrator) then, when required, publish them (viewable to all users).
• Sort schedule by status or by provider.
• Filter schedule according to facility, provider type and status.
• The “View my Personal Schedule” option shows only the events belonging to the current logged on user.
• View the details of a particular event by clicking on the event on the schedule.

• Create as many MDs, CRNAs, Residents, and any other provider types you need on the schedule.

• Divide a client (group) into subgroups. (Members of a subgroup are visible to other subgroups belonging to the same client. Facilities/statuses etc are unique and visible to only the sub(groups) they belong to.)

More than just “Who’s on first?”

• Anesthesia Scheduler handles vacation and call requests. Also included is a Timecard feature.
• Providers can make vacation/call requests.
• Client Administrators can approve/waitlist or deny requests and send an email notification if they wish.
• Approved requests are automatically transferred to the main schedule.
• The Timecard feature enables users to edit the time spent on call.

Customized Error Checking

• A provider cannot be in two places at the same time, and should not be where they are not credentialed or if they do not have the required attributes. A provider may not be allowed to have more that the maximum allowed vacation days. Anesthesia Scheduler will help prevent these problems from occurring.
• Define attributes/credentials of call statuses and providers.
• Define a status compatibility matrix.
• Define the maximum vacation days allowed for each provider.
• With these defined – predefined rules are set which prevent conflicts.
• All data entry (main schedule, vacation requests, and other requests) is checked to prevent conflicts.
• Conflicting data is prevented from being entered – with notification given.

Discussion Board

A discussion board is also available to aid communication between members of the group. Features include:

• Notification of new messages upon login;
• Public and private messages may be sent.
